I've long been fascinated by the visionary power of dreams and the freedom that they give us to go anywhere, do anything and speak to anyone - all from the safety of our own pillows!  This CD features songs that came to me in dreams - either as complete songs or as sort of notepads for songs.

"Fly with Me (Song for John)", was written after "meeting" in a dream the spirit of John Denver in north London and receiving an impromptu masterclass in songwriting.  In my dream he taught me this song that he'd never had the chance to record - all I had to do was write down the song when I awoke!

"Horton Tower" - Horton Tower itself is real and can be found on a hilltop close to Horton village just north of Wimborne in Dorset.  You can even view the Tower whilst enjoying a drink in the garden of the picturesque Drusilla's Inn - click here for more details.   Horton Tower will be familiar to many as the location for the cock-fighting scene in the 1966 film of Thomas Hardy's "Far from the Madding Crowd".  There is a legend of a "Grey Lady" at nearby Horton Hollow and so I used this wonderful backdrop to weave a story about lovers who, through injustice, became separated - yet they believed that somehow the Grey Lady could re-unite them again.

"While You were Asleep" came to me in another dream - I imagined lovers, miles away from eachother, feeling close together as they both gazed at the same moon.  I woke up in the early hours one morning (after a hot curry!) and completed the song during an eclipse of the moon.

"Last Night" also came to me in a dream and became a complete song during a bonfire/fireworks night at the quaint Cross Keys Inn (01202 822555), again just north of Wimborne in Dorset, where smoke, silhouettes and shadows combined to create the illusion of seeing people that were not there at all - or were they?.
